Our baby is almost 9 months old! Now that she's a mover and a shaker, it is getting challenging for me to get photos of her on her monthly birthdays. The photo above is my new pose for birthday pictures with her doll, as my attempts at laying her by her doll on her 8 month birthday were totally useless ;)

I would say that JR is officially mobile these days. My mom came in to visit us recently - and to bring Joe's new fire pit (an early birthday gift) and our new-to-us patio furniture (an early birthday gift to both of us from my Grandpa). While the three of us were eating dinner, Julia played on the floor and babbled. Then, she just decided to go exploring! She has never gone off alone - and out of sight - before, which was a good reminder that she's changing so much we need to be on our toes at all times! She didn't go far, but she is definitely interested in what's happening in our house these days. The picture to the left has nothing to do with her crawling... but isn't it SO cute?!
Lately, we've gotten to see my family a few times, which has been nice after a long break in

visits because of our very hectic start-of-semester work schedules. My dad and Betty babysat JR one day while I had a training in the city. I think they really enjoyed the time with her - and we appreciated the help! They were cracking up at all of her new sounds, which include a machine-gun sound, a fake cough, and some kind of gargling sound that she seems to make in the back of her throat. Perhaps she'll be a sound effects creator?

Last Sunday, we celebrated my Grandpa Supler's 92nd birthday. It is hard to imagine how much has changed in his 92 years on earth. My Aunt Karen had a really nice party for him, with food, cake, and lots of kids wandering all over. The neighbors probably didn't know what to do with them all! At 92, my Grandpa golfs every Monday, plays pool at the senior center multiple days a week, is an active member of the Golden K's (Kiwanis for older adults), and delivers Meals on Wheels to the "Elderly" every Friday!! You have to guess that some of those meal-takers are a fair amount younger than him.
Time to wrap up. Check out all of our recent pictures by clicking the link:

She is sooo adorable! The laundry pic is really cute. Julia with her dolly! It's really funny the noises she is making now, isn't it?
