Time to catch up! We've already had a busy summer and I've got lots of things to share. First, I wanted to post about the 91st annual Wilmarth picnic, which happened on Father's Day weekend. It was a fun time with over 70 people there and a weekend that consisted of many gatherings.
On Friday, we headed out to Rosie and Denny's house for pizza and fun. They're right on a lake, so Jules even got to take a little boat ride while we were there. Julia and Beckett, who belongs to my cousins Mark and Heidi, got to play together. Although, play is a loose term. Essentially, they were both trying to play with the bean bag game set and Jules didn't want to share, so she laid on top of all the bean bags so Beckett wouldn't see them. Definitely my kid at her best ;)
Saturday, we went out to the pasture for a hot and fun day. We played in the creek, listened to the Oregon High School Jazz Band - because what family reunion is complete without a jazz band in a pasture! - and then the cows came up for a visit. All-in-all, it was lots of entertainment! We also had fun getting all of the little ones together. There are about 8 great grandkids on that side and 7 of them were there (all except Luke). I wish I would have taken a picture! Then, we went back to Rochelle for dinner with my Mom and Randy for Father's Day. It was fun to get the kids together and nice to see my Grandpa. We had MORE great food and just enjoyed the evening.
Finally, on Sunday, we went to my Aunt Kathy's for brunch and swimming. Jules and Joe jumped in the pool and we got to spend some time with my Dad. It was such a nice weekend!

Julia had to show everyone her bathing suit. If she wasn't wearing it, she carried it around to show them!
The Oregon High School Jazz Band - my cousin, Hannah, is playing the trombone.
This year, they hired a guy to come and roast a whole hog. It was 90+ degrees outside... so we were a little worried about this older fella.
A view of the whole gathering. Kudos to my Dad for building these two tents!

Seriously! The cows really did come for a visit. I was a little worried they'd find something tasty in our car to munch on... because the windows were open!
