This was a big week in the Wilmarth Tyna household. On Monday, I went back to work and Julia visited Sakina, her babysitter, for the first time. It was a rough day, filled with some tears - of course none belonged to Julia ;) - but we made it through. In fact, we seemed to survive the whole week without any permanent damage. Hopefully week two will be just as successful. It helps that my work has allowed me to flex my schedule so I can be home on Fridays. Joe's work also let him change hours, so he's there from 7 am until 4 pm and can pick up Julia a bit earlier.

In other news, Miss Julia Renee went to visit her doctor on Tuesday for her 2 month check-up. I can't believe she is already that old! Joe and I were not terribly shocked to discover that our beefy little girl weighs 13 pounds already. That's the 95th percentile for weight at her age! Apparently our earlier concern about weight gain is not a worry anymore ;) Check out her dolly picture from this month and compare it to the earlier one. She already looks bigger! Also notice the super cute St. Patty's Day outfit she is modeling. Thanks, Aunt Ashley!

Over the past week or so, Julia has been learning all sorts of new things. She has finally discovered her toys, which has been lots of fun. She'll watch as we shake a brightly colored toy or check out the dangling items on her gym. It's so cool to see her figuring things out bit by bit. Now, if we could just get her to figure out that sleeping happens at night in her crib, we'd be really well off ;)
And finally, we were excited to learn that Julia has a new friend! My friends from U of I, Christie and Cort Fornero, just had a baby boy yesterday (March 21st). David Alexander was born in the evening and it sounds like everybody is doing well. We can't wait to meet him! If you want more info, check out Cort and Christie's blog by clicking the link on our blog page.

Happy birthday to Papa Masterson, who is celebrating a special birthday today! We had a fun birthday party for him over the weekend, which included lots of family :) Here are a few pictures:
