What a BIG Girl!

It has been awhile since I've posted, so I thought it appropriate to mostly focus on all of the fun things Julia is doing these days. She is talking a lot, saying things like:

  • "Ummm... I don't know." (Especially in response to questions about whether she loves mommy ;)
  • "ABC... HIJK... LOOP"
  • "No, no, no" (Picture an arm waving you away frantically while she's saying it)
  • "Where go?" (The shoulder and arm shrug that accompanies the question really make this adorable)
  • "Mom" or "Momma" (FINALLY!!)
  • "Air Plane" (Which sounds like "eh, plane")
  • "Yeah" (Which she says in response to just about everything, including questions like "did you fly with superman today?")
  • "Sun, sun" (She sings this like the Raffi song that she's trying to mimic)
  • "Pooooo" and "potty" (Does this mean we can potty train soon?!?!)
She is also doing lots of things that are fun to watch. Jules recently learned how to walk backwards, which has led to lots of fun and a few bumps or bruises. Her puppy dog and airplane radar systems are amazingly accurate. She always seems to spot them from far, far away!

As has always been the case, she still loves being outside and we've been able to go for lots of walks in the stroller or in the cool wagon that Grandpa Mike and Grandma Betty gave to her for her 1st birthday (which we are now farther away from than her 2nd birthday, if you can believe it)!

Our new babysitter situation how worked out wonderfully. Miss Sue seems to really enjoy Julia - she has told me a few times now that Jules is her little cheerleader (because of her spontaneous "YAAAYs") and that she's 19 months going on 9. Julia seems to really enjoy the other kids and it's nice to see her get excited when she sees Miss Sue coming to answer the door in the mornings. What a relief to know that she's happy and that there aren't anymore diaper rashes or poopy clothes to worry about.

I think that's all for a Julia update for now. Enjoy the pictures! They are ones we took recently of Jules wearing a hat that Joe wore when he was a baby. Julia's Papa Seahorse gave it to us recently. Thanks, Papa Seahorse. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
