Snow day

Not too long ago, we had enough snow to shut things down around Chicagoland for a day or two. Our 18-19 inches of snow, lovingly referred to by many as "snowmageddon," was then followed by a short ice age. Nothing like a -30 degree wind chill to get the blood flowing! Now I can clearly see what happened to the dinosaurs.

While we were snowed in - all three of us - we got to shovel, sled, fall down in the snow (repeatedly), yell for help by saying "a help you" (repeatedly), and shovel some more. Let me tell you... some of us had a lot of fun.

While Joe continued the shoveling out, I attempted to take Jules sledding. We have gone before and she LOVES it. Unfortunately, the snow was really deep, Julia is really heavy (30 pounds at her 2-year appointment), and snow clothes are slippery and squishy. Let's just say that this was the perfect storm and, after some swearing and a lot of sweating and falling on my part, we gave up - much to Julia's chagrin. Here are some photos from the fun!

Trying to clear the front path

That's my little Honda Civic under there!

Looking out from our front porch. There's a large rose bush hiding under there.
