August Update

Phew! August is already over and I still haven't gotten a chance to share about our trip to Cleveland! Where did the month go?

Well, just as the month started, we headed to Cleveland for an unfortunately fast weekend with family for Joe's cousin, Shawna, and her fiance, Doug, to get married. It was a hot weekend - about 95 every day - and all the wedding festivities were outdoor, so we packed our sunscreen and headed out. It was a great wedding and we saw lots of family members that we were missing!

On Saturday, we got to spend some time with Aunt Sue, Ashley, Dan, and Agi before heading to the ceremony. Aunt Sue gave Julia two pop-up books - Cinderella and Snow White - which have become FAST favorites. They are cute little rhyming stories and Jules has pretty much memorized them and can recite the words on each page. As a side note, Joe has decided that he thinks Julia will read by the end of 2012... we may wager on this, as I'm not convinced... but suffice it to say that she loves her some good books.

On Sunday, we had a chance to have breakfast with Dan, Agi, Ashley, Adam, and Aunt Chris (who came in from New Jersey). It was nice to catch up and relax with everyone. Julia even got some piano playing in Aunt Sue and her Nagymama.

While we were gone, we saw all sorts of folks, including:

John and Mary, who just had a new baby in June

And here's baby Ezra all dressed up for the wedding

Julia got to hang out with Papa Seahorse at the ceremony

Uncle Bill and Shawna looked wonderful!

We had a chance to see lots of Tyna Aunts and Uncles (7 of the 11)

We sat for a bit with Joe's cousin, Brian. This is after he gave Julia the most enormous, bright blue cookie in the world. Shockingly, you can barely see the black eye I gave him ;)

Jules got to dance with the bride and groom and she loved every moment. Thanks, Shawna and Doug!

Dan and Agi were all dressed up for the event

The piano players
It was a great trip and we were so grateful to be able to celebrate Shawna and Doug's wedding with them! Congratulations, you two!!
