While I've shared a lot about my travels to and in El Salvador, I haven't at all shared with you about two of my three favorite things about the country - the food and the beauty of it's land (the #1 favorite is the wonderful people, but I shared about them already!).

| Another view from our work site. This is the actively erupting - see the steam!? - volcano in San Miguel. |

| Along the drive from San Salvador to Morazan. |

While we were visiting, we also ate SO well! We tried a lot of very common foods and also had a few special things that the average Salvadoran wouldn't have on a regular basis, like steak.
| We had WONDERFUL, fresh fruit every day for breakfast. |
| Beans, eggs, and avocado with fresh juice and fruit was a usual breakfast. |
| On the work site, meals were served from a local cafeteria. This was chicken fajitas, rice, fresh cheese, and tortillas. |
| The juice was so delicious! This was a special "fruit salad" juice |
| Pupusas, a Salvadoran favorite, served with a kind of cabbage slaw, and meat pies |
| Yucca fries |
| Stuffed pepper, with rice, fresh cheese, and tortillas |
You can't tell from the photos I've posted, but we ended up eating a lot of chicken and we had the opportunity to try juices like cantaloupe, hibiscus, tamarind, and others. Everything was so delicious!
