Last weekend we had our annual cookie bake in Rochelle. It was great! I haven't been home for the big event for WAY too many years and this was Joe's first cookie bake experience. We had a great time!
Here's the Spark Notes version:
- rolled, baked, and decorated dozens of sugar cookies -- including a good number of accidental breaks that were very tasty
- exchanged 8 different kinds of cookies -- we made 9 dozen each!
- Joe decorated the Christmas tree with my nephew, Caden, who quickly abandoned ship and left Joe on his own ;)
- had fun with lots of family!

Joe has had an exciting few days at work this week. He was responsible for planning a holiday program for 3 groups of pre-school and kindergarten children at some local schools. He was very happy to be the voice of the Grinch with the back-up support of some co-workers. Sadly, no costumes were included.

Now that Christmas is just around the corner, we're finishing up our shopping and gearing up for lots of family time. We'll spend Christmas eve with my mom's family and Christmas day with my dad's family. After that, we'll take a day or so to recover before going up to Wisconsin with my mom's family. It should be fun.
If we don't see you or talk to you soon, have wonderful, family-filled holidays and a great start to the new year!
