Happy Thanksgiving
We traveled to the Land of Cleves this year to celebrate Thanksgiving. We got to visit lots of family and friends and enjoyed a great trip!
After a bumpy start that included a hole in one tire and a second tire that was flat, we got on the road around noon on Monday. Julia was a trooper for about 6 1/2 hours of traveling and only one stop. I have officially dubbed her a rock star! We landed at the Tyna around 7:30 pm, unloaded, and got Julia into bed. Julia spent the next few days spending some quality time blowing raspberries with her Aunt Ashley. See the photo on the left for proof ;) She also had fun with Papa Seahorse, Nagymama, and Aunt Sue!
On Tuesday, we went up to visit some of our friends at Baldwin-Wallace College. It was really nice to see so many of the people we don't see often, but wish we could. It would only have been made better if Ayisha, Adam, and family could have been there with us! While we were there, we also had the special treat of seeing our friend, Julie, who just had a baby about 3 weeks ago. Baby Abraham enjoyed lots of snuggles with everyone while he took a nice, long snooze. He's such a sweet pea! We also got to see our B-W friends, Brendan and Carolyn, on Wednesday night when they invited us over for dinner and fun with their newest family member, Sadie, the black lab.
Thanksgiving Day was certainly a day of giving thanks, but it went a bit differently than we anticipated. Julia has been coughing over the past week or so and on Wednesday we noticed that she was weezing a bit. After calling the doctor's office back home, we decided to wait a bit to see if we should take her to a doctor. When she started weezing again right away on Thursday morning, we make a visit to the Emergency Room to have her checked out. Two and a half hours later, we learned that JR has pneumonia again. BOOOO for pneumonia! The experience made us very thankful for the kind people who helped us at the hospital, the good health we generally enjoy, and health insurance. Julia got a chance to show off her holiday best for a few hours of the day, too. Thanks for the cute outfit, Alexis! :)
We wrapped up our trip with a visit with Donna and Mark. It was so nice that Gram Polivchak also stayed one night with us, while Aunt Diana and Michael dropped by for a few hours on Friday. Everyone really had fun playing with Julia and they even taught her a new trick. Now, she'll stick her hands up in the air while everyone yells "yaaay". It's really cute. She's also starting to put her hands together a bit like a clap... so we'll see what happens!
