| Julia in her big girl bed! |
The last few weeks have been filled with lots of change and excitement. First, Julia has been having some problems sleeping lately. She has been scared and will only cooperate for Joe, which has been hard on all of us. I seem to make the situation worse. All of this has led to some very exciting news: Julia is sleeping in a big girl bed! Two weeks have passed so far and she's doing well - no falling on the floor yet.

Julia has been quite the curious little lady lately. She has been inquiring about body parts and pointing out everything that any brave parent dares to expose. Earlier this week, Joe was giving Jules a bath and he decided to change clothes real quickly. Well, it was apparently not quick enough because Julia looked over at him and asked "Daddy, you have 3 legs, Daddy?" HA! Clearly, we need to start coming up with some good explanations for things ;) It was just over a month ago that she complimented me on how much she liked my "mosquito bites."

And for our last bit of big news, I am proud to announce that Julia had her first potty excitement at home yesterday. She went poo poo on the potty! She hasn't even gone pee pee here yet - that seems to be a Miss Sue's house thing - so we were excited and shocked that she did. It has been slow going, but we're clearly getting a little closer with every potty experience. Cross your fingers for us!
This past week or so has been exceptionally busy for me. We wrapped up orientation at work - Elmhurst College - welcoming over 600 new students to our community. As a part of our intensive orientation week, we hosted
Feed My Starving Children on campus for a service project. It went really well and our students made a huge impact! In one day, we packaged
144,288 meals, which will feed
395 children living in poverty in other countries for
one year. It was a successful week and a great experience.
Joe and I are hoping that life will calm down a bit, although that doesn't seem likely. With school starting and the electronics recycling collection season really gearing up, it promises to be a hectic and exciting few months. Ready or not, here we go!
