Proud of OUR Tough Mudder

Last weekend was the culmination of over 2 months of training for Joe, who participated in his first-ever Tough Mudder event. If you're not familiar with a Tough Mudder, it's a 10-12 mile course with about 20-25 different obstacles that involve water, mud, and lots of big walls! The entire event is a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project, which supports soldiers injured in combat. It's a team-oriented event, so Joe joined forces with my two step-sisters and their hubbies - DeAnna and Andy, and Roxy and Stephen - along with another friend, for the event.

While our Tough Mudder team participated, my Mom, Randy, and I wrangled the 7 children - ranging from 10 months to 14 years old - to the event to watch all of their moms and dads start. We also got to check out the very first obstacle, which covered them all in mud from head to foot! Needless to say, it was a fun and exhausting day for everybody involved.

We were so proud of all of our Tough Mudders. And Jules, Owen, and I are especially proud of Joe and all of his efforts to prepare for this exciting, but CRAZY event. He rocked it!
